This is just a quick little update about what I am up to now, not really a formal blog post 🙂
Solo travel. I’ve never really felt like I was solo, completely on my own, until now. I am now staying in a hostel in Paris. It is actually my first time staying in a hostel by myself, but I imagine that I will be staying in any more over the course of this year. Anyways, staying in a hostel, or any kind of similar accommodation is different. I can literally do whatever I want. I can come and go as I please, eat when I want, and come home when I want. Although this may sound really nice, it is hard to know what to do with all that time when you’re on your own. Making friends at the hostel is intimidating, particularly when most everyone is older than you. I’m only there for three more nights, and two more full days (Wow- time really flies!) So far I have done quite a lot of sightseeing, and of course stopping in coffee shops in between. I’m sure by now I am really racking up a bill from all the coffees I have been drinking. I guess I make up for it by grabbing a quinoa salad for lunch from the Carrefour everyday (this costs like 3 euros tops). I have also mastered the metro system for the most part. This is great for when I get lazy and don’t feel like walking; it also makes me feel like a real Parisian. I don’t really have much else to say about solo travel as of now. Technically, from how I think about it, this is really only day one of my solo travel adventures. I am excited to update you all once I have experienced more of what being a solo traveler is. Anyways, that is all for now. I just wanted to post a quick little update as I adjust to this new phase of my adventures.
